Washington: President Joe Biden has decided to distribute frozen Afghan assets in the United States equally among the Afghan people and victims of the 9/11 attacks.

 


According to the International News Agency, the value of frozen Afghan funds in the United States is 7  billion, which the Biden administration, which has so far been hesitant to return, has finally decided.


Of the  7 billion,  3.5 billion will go to the Afghan people and  3.5 billion to the victims of the 9/11 attacks, the US presidential decree said.


The order said that the payment of money to the 9/11 victims would be suspended till the court decides, however, if the court allows, the Afghan people will be paid three and a half billion dollars immediately. The US president's order also states that  3.5 billion in frozen funds has been allocated to the Afghan people so that the money does not fall into the hands of the Taliban.
