Due to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, people from all over the world are facing severe difficulties and people are trying to return. About 2,000 Yemenis are among those trapped in Sudan, for whose return Yemen and Saudi Arabia are working together.
Alavi Bafiqiya, the Yemeni consular in Jeddah city, has said that the Yemeni and Saudi governments have started joint efforts for the safe return of Yemeni citizens trapped in Sudan. Both countries are trying to bring back Yemeni citizens from Sudan through Aden port.
Al-Hazariyah explained that the Yemeni authorities have discussed with Saudi Arabia a plan to transfer Crimean citizens directly from the port of Sudan to the port of Aden by providing ships designated for this task.
He pointed out during his interview with "Independent Arabia" that 246 Yemeni men and women were on board the second evacuation shipment that arrived in Jeddah as part of the completion of evacuation operations with Saudi Arabia. .
Regarding the number of Yemenis stuck there and the procedure for implementing the evacuation process, the Yemeni consul said that we hope that this plan will facilitate the evacuation process in all respects. Our embassy has learned that the number of citizens trapped in Sudan is estimated to be around 2,000. Apart from this, this project was adopted by Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni diplomat said that Saudi Arabia is making tremendous and extraordinary efforts to evacuate foreigners from Sudan, which has stunned the world.
Last Monday, the government's emergency committee in Sudan announced the completion of the process of transporting the Yemenis trapped in the capital Khartoum to the city of Madani in the state of Al-Jazeera, from where arrangements were made to bring them back home via Port Sudan.
